Will I Be Able To Collect Social Security On My Former Spouse's Earnings If I Move To Ireland?
I am a permanent resident and divorced.
I need to know if i relinquish my green card and move to Ireland, will I be able to collect Social Security on my former spouse earnings at 65? I don't have enough of my own.
Hi. I assume that you're an Irish citizen, which is pertinent because the U.S. Social Security program has a totalization agreement with Ireland. In that case, then yes, you can be paid any type of U.S. Social Security benefits that you qualify for even if you move to Ireland.
