Why Did I Receive A Payment Yesterday?
I received a one time payment on the 2nd of October (yesterday). My regular monthly payment comes on the 2nd Wednesday of the month. I have no knowledge why got this one time amount. It was for $477.00
Hi,
Social Security runs several types of automated processes around this time of the year. What you likely received is back pay related to a benefit rate adjustment of some type, although I have no way of knowing for sure. You should receive an explanation by mail within 2 weeks of when you received the payment, or you could contact Social Security and ask them about it.
