How Do I Get My Mom's SS Benefit Redeposited In Her Bank Account?
I am looking to have my mom's ss benefit redeposited back into her bank account after reporting her death which caused an overdraft i am on the account and now am responsible.
Hi. I'm sorry for your loss. If your mother was entitled to the benefit payment that was deducted from her account, it would be an underpayment that could be redistributed to eligible family members or her estate. In order to claim a Social Security underpayment you must complete a form SSA-1724. The form and an explanation of who can qualify to be paid an underpayment can be found on the following Social Security website: https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ssa-1724.html.
