How Do Go About Correcting An Error?

Receive d checks but application had errors. Have left voicemails. Would it be better to also send a letter to correct errors? That is, to leave paper trail?
Thank you for your columns, they tried lump sum which I refused!! Thank you. Best, mimi

Hi Mimi,

Well, you certainly want to make sure that any mistakes are corrected, so take whatever action is needed to fix the problem. It certainly wouldn't hurt to send in a letter, and depending on the problem, you might want to file a formal appeal. You only have 60 days from the date of your award notice in which to file an appeal, so be sure to act timely.

Best, Jerry
