Can I Suspend My Benefits Until Age 70?
Hi Larry,
Started SS Benefits at age 69, I want to stop benefits and start again at age 70. Can I do that, and if so will I have to pay back all the benefits collected? How would Medicare be handled?
I will turn 70, June 2018.

Hi,
Yes, you could do that. And if you do so, you won't have to repay any of the benefits you've already received because the soonest that you could suspend your benefits is the month after the month of your request (https://www.ssa.gov/planners/retire/suspendfaq.html).
If you suspend your benefits you'll be billed for any Medicare premiums that would normally be deducted from your payments until your monthly benefits resume.
