Can I Recieve Higher Benefits If I'm Disabled?
I did not get enough work credits for my own Social Security benefits, I do however draw Social Security survivor's benefits on my husband's work record called a widow's annuity.
Is it possible for me to draw disability benefits for myself?
I am 75 years old and not in good health.
Hi,
Sorry, but no. Once you are past full retirement age, being disabled makes no difference in the amount your Social Security benefit, nor filing options.
Best, Jerry
