Will It Affect My Disability Payments If I Deposit A Check For Roof Repair From My Homeowners Insurance?
I receive Social Security and SSI disability I received a insurance claim check from my homeowners insurance to repair my roof from a damage if I deposit a check in my account to pay the roof company would that affect my disability check
Hi. Nothing you do with the insurance payment would affect your Social Security disability (SSDI) benefits, but I'm not sure about your Supplemental Security Income (SSI). SSI is needs based, so any change in a person's income or resources can affect their SSI payments.
I know the fundamentals of the SSI program, but my expertise is actually limited to Social Security benefits. I would suggest calling Social Security to discuss your question with an SSI claims representative.
