Simultaneously collecting retirement and survivor benefits

MMSS suggest that my wife would be able to simultaneously collect both retirement benefits and survivor benefits (the detail table lists distributions for both categories). I checked with the local SS office and with Vanguard CFP, and they advised that an individual cannot collect two distributions the same time.

Is there a mistake in the details?
